CUET Commerce 2027 Time Management: How to Attempt 50 Questions in 60 Minutes

Master CUET Commerce time management with a 3-round strategy to attempt 50 questions in 60 minutes while maintaining accuracy.

CUET Commerce 2027 Time Management: How to Attempt 50 Questions in 60 Minutes

Knowing the CUET Commerce syllabus is important, but knowing how to manage your time inside the examination can be just as important.

CUET is conducted in computer-based test mode. Each test paper has 50 compulsory questions with 60 minutes available, which means students need to balance speed, accuracy and decision-making throughout the paper.

How Much Time Do You Get in CUET?

Each test paper has a duration of 60 minutes, with 50 questions to be attempted. That gives an average of around 72 seconds per question if the time were divided equally.

However, you should not spend exactly 72 seconds on every question. Some questions will take only a few seconds. Others may require considerably more thought.

The real skill is knowing when to continue and when to move on.

Why CUET Time Management Is Difficult for Commerce Students

Commerce students often prepare through textbooks and chapter-wise questions. But solving 50 mixed questions under a fixed time limit is a different experience.

An Accountancy question may require calculation that takes several steps. Spending too much time on that single question can affect the rest of the paper.

The 3-Round CUET Attempt Strategy

Round 1: Quick and Certain Questions

Start with questions where you immediately understand what is being asked and can confidently identify the answer. Your initial objective is to collect the marks that are readily available to you.

Round 2: Moderate-Difficulty Questions

Once you have gone through the straightforward questions, return to the ones that require more thought.

Round 3: Difficult or Time-Consuming Questions

The final round should be reserved for questions that require significantly more attention.

Don't Spend Five Minutes on One Question

One of the biggest time-management mistakes is becoming emotionally attached to a difficult question. Recognise when a question is consuming too much time and move ahead.

Final Thoughts

CUET Commerce time management is not about rushing through 50 questions. It is about making good decisions throughout the paper. Practise under a real time limit and adjust your strategy based on your own performance.
